How to connect Roku to your Wi-Fi network (error code 014)?

Roku is a streaming media player. You may face Roku Wi-Fi issues while watching a show or movie suddenly it stops connecting or buffing for long time. You can also see a message like Roku has lost its Wi-Fi connection or error code 014. That time you can reboot your Roku but it will resolve the problem temporarily, but it is not a good solution for your roku. This may happen even if your Roku have a strong signal from your Wi-Fi router.

There are some issues “No WI-Fi Connection”:

  • Incorrect Wi-Fi Login Information.

  • Wi-Fi Out of Range.

  • System needs to be rebooted.

  • Wrong IP Address.

We have two types of solution for these kinds of Roku Wi-Fi problems:

  • One of the solutions is to disconnect the wireless connection and try to use LAN cable for your Roku. Home network equipment like Wi-Fi router, cable, DSL modem, etc.

Another solution:

  • If your roku device is helpless to connect your network, check your IP settings for your wireless connection on your roku TV.

  • Go to Wi-Fi connection to select the network settings to check if your ip address is set to be a Manual then change it into Automatic.

Disable Network Pings:

  • To fix the disable network pings, press the following buttons on your Roku remote to show the “Platform Secret Screen” is (x5).

  • You can navigate up the menu and select the option like” Disable network pings”.

  • Now you would be able to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Update Your Software:

  • If you need not to find “Disable network pings” on menu because there is no Roku box so you need a software update.

Connect to another network:

  • Connect your Roku to an alternative Wi-Fi network on your Smartphone or tablet’s cellular hotspot. Connect the Roku physically to your router using an Ethernet cable.

Run a software update.

  • To connect press the following buttons in order to unlock the “Secret Screen”: (x5) (x3) (x2)

  • To select the “Update Software” option to wait for the Roku to finish installing and then reboot the roku.

Disable network pings:

  • After finishing software update, you need to disable network pings.

  • Connect to your Wi-Fi network.

  • Finally, the roku TV connection to be disabled network pings, you should be able to successfully connect to your Wi-Fi network without any issues.
